THANK YOU TO THE NHS!
UPDATED: 15/09/2020 - UK GOV Guidelines
When using taxis or private hire cars, you should wear a face mask. A taxi driver or private hire vehicle operator can refuse to accept you unless you wear a face mask. Transmission risk is low at 2 metres, and therefore should be placed 2 metres away from where appropriate.
If you are unable to keep a distance of 2 metres, reduce the danger to yourself and others by keeping a distance of 1 metre, where possible, and taking reasonable precautions.
Take driver's advice. For example, if you are travelling alone, you will be asked to sit in the rear left-hand seat. Before travelling, you may want to check with your taxi or private hire operator if they have put in place any additional measures.
Where possible you can use contactless payment, or find out whether you can pay in advance online.
Be careful of the surfaces that you encounter. Be mindful of not touching your face. While coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or the inside of your elbow.
Clean your hands for at least 20 seconds at the end of your ride or sanitize your hands as soon as possible.
